What are the benefits of the program?
See what the mentees and mentors are saying...
- “The most valuable aspect of the Maverick Mentorship Program lies in the meticulous pairing of mentors with mentees, fostering not just professional but also personal connections. These mentorship sessions had a profound effect on me, as I formed a deep bond with Sonya, enabling us to support and champion each other.” [MENTOR] MICHELE ALLEN-FRANKLIN, MSOL
- “I’m thankful for being chosen to be a part of this initiative, and it has been an incredible rewarding experience. It has given me the foundation to make connections across campus to propel my career goal of getting director experience without having the title. My mentor, Jennifer Higgins, has provided me with invaluable guidance and support. I enjoyed the open conversations and the ability to adapt our sessions and time to my specific goal.” [MENTEE] MISTIE MASKIL
- “The experience had a greatly positive impact on me, with the mentoring relationship spawning a half-dozen or so powerful relationships with other potential mentors through the efforts of my mentor to facilitate effective networking based on my interests and goal. Additionally, we have resolved to maintain communications in the coming months and years.” [MENTEE] QUENTIN SCOTT
- “What I enjoyed most about the mentoring program was seeing a fresh perspective on working at UTA, serving as a resource and sounding board for someone who wants to give her best every time and in the process of being a part of this program, I have added a wonderful new person to my life…” [MENTOR] ANGELA EZELL]
How will I be recognized for success?
At completion, a celebratory reception recognizes all mentors and mentees for their commitment to the mentoring sessions, networking, workshops, and other engaging development activities. To add to the festivities, Dr. Jennifer Cowley, President, delivers the keynote address and all participants are honored with a commemorative certificate and photo!
