Academy of Distinguished Service Leaders

The Academy of Distinguished Service Leaders exemplifies the University's commitment to University, professional, and community service in the best spirit of shared and service leadership. Its goals include advocating the importance of service, creating an appropriate reward structure for service, promoting a sense of community among those heavily engaged in service, serving as role models, fostering research on service, and advising the institution on service policies and practices.

Election to the Academy is limited to full-time faculty members, including faculty who are classified as administrative rank and have made sustained significant service contributions to their University, profession, or community as a faculty member, as well as exemplified principles of shared and service leadership.

Faculty members elected to the Academy earn a permanent salary increase and serve a term of six years on the Academy's Leadership Committee. Election to the Academy is a one-time honor, and membership is for the duration of tenure at UTA.
