Purpose

New Connections supports expectant parents and parents of children age 5 and younger. Parents may sign up directly or be referred by another agency.

New Connections programs offer parenting classes, drug education classes, counseling, recovery support, and case management services to qualified families. We help families get the tools and resources needed to succeed.  Services are provided by licensed social workers or social work interns supervised by a licensed professional. 

How to Sign Up for An Event

To sign up, please complete the referral form.  You will be contacted to complete a virtual meeting with one of our staff or interns.  You can sign up for any of the following services after you have had the initial appointment. All services are free of charge.

Parenting Classes

These are self-paced courses, available anytime to complete virtually. Your case manager will give you the information to access these classes.  You will receive a Certificate of Completion for each class completed.

Drug Education Classes

Drug Education classes are offered live on a virtual format.  Information on the brain biology of addiction and recovery are given as well as classes on specific drugs:  marijuana, alcohol, opioids/ fentanyl, cocaine/ methamphetamines, and smoking cessation.  Participants needs to be in a private location and on camera to participate.

Counseling Services

Counseling services are offered to help you with recovery, anxiety, depression or dealing with past trauma.  Note that the counseling services we offer cannot fulfill any legally mandated counseling requirements.  These are optional services for you to be able to get support.

Case Management

Every participant in New Connections will receive case management services.  The case manager will ensure you are able to access the resources needed for success – either within the New Connections program or link to outside resources. The case manager will work with you to assess your needs and help you accomplish your goals. The case manager can provide or link you with urgent supplies or needs.

Mom’s Club / Parent Club

Virtual and In-person events for support and to do fun activities with your children.  Times and locations are emails to current New Connections participants.
