First Year and Freshmen Admissions


All Undergraduate students must meet all The University of Texas at Arlington’s Admissions requirements. When completing your UTA application at Apply Texas ensure that you utilize the UTA code and indicate that you are SW-Intended. After UTA has received your application, academic records, and optional test scores, they will review your package and keep you up to date on your admissions status.

COMPLETE THESE STEPS TO BE ACCEPTED AS A SOCIAL WORK MAJOR


Once you have applied as a BSW-Intended student and have been admitted as a UTA student, you will need to ensure the following before becoming an official BSW major:

  1. Earn a ‘C’ or higher in 5 INT courses  
  2. Earn a Minimum Cumulative GPA  

    a.  Bachelor of Social Work Majors: 2.5+ GPA 

  3. Complete a Undergraduate Major Transition Declaration Form  
  4. Complete BSW Declaration and Ethics Policy Agreement  
  5. Complete BSW Major Acceptance Agreement  
  6. Attend Undergraduate Orientation 

 

Attend an Info Session

Attending an Undergraduate Admissions Information Session provides you with a unique opportunity to meet with representatives from the School of Social Work and discuss the BSW program.
