Administer the 2nd COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey in Spring 2025

Overview

The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) is a research-practice partnership at Harvard University that partners with institutions to deliver a faculty job satisfaction survey, the results of which enable improved, data-guided decision-making around faculty recruitment, development, and retention. UTA administered its first COACHE survey in 2021. This will be our second survey.

Impact

Recommendations based on the 2021 results align with the following changes:

  • $2 million dollar investment in faculty salaries,
  • Tuition fully covered for GTAs and GRAs,
  • Minimal wage increase from $12 to $16 per hour for GTAs/GRAs, and
  • Health insurance fully covered for GTAs GRAs in PhD programs and terminal master’s programs.

  • Tactic: Conduct regular Engagement Surveys and create operational accountability for improving employee engagement results at all levels.

Status Update - Spring 2025

UTA’s second COACHE survey will be administered February – April 2025. Analyze results and determine action priorities then form taskforces to make recommendations on top priorities.
