Exploring Redesign of Faculty Hiring

Overview

UTA is exploring a comprehensive redesign of its faculty hiring and retention processes and compensation guidelines. This effort is part of UTA’s commitment to attracting and retaining world-class faculty, ensuring its hiring practices and processes offer competitive and transparent compensation structures.

Impact

Improving operational efficiency in the hiring and onboarding of faculty and postdocs by implementing a new faculty-oriented applicant tracking system that is customizable, user-friendly, and can be seamlessly integrated with existing HR-related systems.

  • Tactic: Streamline faculty hiring processes to better recruit and retain faculty.
    • Targets:
      • Accelerate faculty hiring through RISE100 initiatives.
      • Roll out faculty recruitment and retention plans.
      • Establish faculty development and support programs.

Status Update - Spring 2025

GTA/GRA initiative portion of the project has been completed and implemented, with several other tasks and initiatives remaining on track and in various phases/stages of completion throughout 2025.
