Overview

Faculty and staff provided insight and guidance into campus technology needs to support multiple teaching and learning modalities and improved student experiences. To support these needs, OIT is advancing administrative technology, strengthening campus cybersecurity and business continuity, standardizing and updating classroom technologies to support diverse learning needs, and modernizing the myUTA application to provide a more responsive and feature-rich student experience.

Impact

The goal of the program is to support students, faculty, and staff by advancing, standardizing, and modernizing administrative, mobile, and classroom technologies, while strengthening campus cybersecurity and business continuity.

Associated Strategies:

Implementation of standardized classroom technologies to support multiple learning styles and instruction modalities by:

  • Continuing upgrading classrooms to the standardized technology suite
  • Supporting new teaching modalities and providing more flexibility for hybrid teaching options leading to better student learning experience.
  • Monitoring and assessing the impact of the technology enhancements on student and faculty engagement and satisfaction.
  • Establishing an improvement cycle, incorporating emerging technologies and educational best practices.

Mature the campus cybersecurity and business continuity posture, minimize network outages, and reduce risk of cyberattacks by:

  • Increasing the availability of our WiFi network infrastructure while improving our security risk and posture.
  • Increasing the number of outdoor network access points to improve WiFi coverage.

Improve student digital experiences by continuing the UTA MyMav Mobile App Modernization program to develop student-focused, responsive design and expanded features in the UTA mobile application.
