The UTA Interior Design Student Group (IDSG) is the new "umbrella" organization that will house the student chapters of national organizations like American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Interior Design Association (IIDA) and The Hospitality Network (NEWH) (2022). All of these student groups work together in support of professional activities and events in a collaborative spirit! All students in the program are members of IDSG and have options to join any (or all) of the professional organizations as a student. We believe this brings the most opportunities and exposure for our students in the professional limelight!

The UTA student chapter of ASID engages students in professional events, activities, and experiences to help them develop their careers. We represent interior design students on the Texas Chapter Board through opportunities like the SRB (Student Rep to the Board) position and attend national events, communicating the latest news to students. We participate in competitions, community service activities, and have a great deal of support from the DFW interior designers. ASID membership is for your full 4 years as a student, with other benefits!
Vision Statement
The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) advances the interior design profession and communicates the impact of interior design on the human experience.
The UTA Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) works to enhance quality of life through excellence in interior design and to advance interior design through knowledge, value and community. IIDA is the "Future of Design," and we recognize that no one represents this better than our Student Members. The Association recognizes the influence that new designers have on the profession and targets Student Members with the information and events that will begin a successful career.
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) works to advance the value of interior design and its practitioners as well as to cultivate leadership within the profession. IIDA has more than 13,000 Members in nine specialty forums, nine regions, and more than 30 Chapters around the world committed to enhancing the quality of life through excellence in interior design and advancing interior design through knowledge. By becoming a Member you are making the decision to be an informed member of the design community.
IIDA, with respect for past accomplishments of Interior Design leaders, strives to create a strong niche for the most talented and visionary Interior Design professionals, to elevate the profession to the level it warrants, and to lead the way for the next generation of Interior Design innovators. The Association provides a forum to demonstrate design professionals’ impact on the health, safety, well being and virtual soul of the public, balancing passion for good design and strategy for best business practices. IIDA stands at the intersection of passion and strategy where designers create extraordinary interiors and experiences.
