Promoting Wellness In Your Classroom

To create a community of wellness at UTA, faculty and staff need tools and resources to support a student’s well-being. This page is meant to provide guidance to aid students in their well-being journey and be a part of creating Healthy Mavericks.

Wellness Coaching

Not all students are seeking counseling. They may need additional help with time management skills or creating wellness goals. Our wellness coaching is a 1:1 session for students to have nonjudgmental conversations and gain tools to be successful.

Suggested Wellness Language for Course Syllabus

The language below is a suggested resource for instructors who want to prioritize student well-being on their syllabus as a means to encourage and guide students to care for their own wellbeing. Faculty can copy and paste either version into their syllabus.

Your Well-being Matters. Students may experience stressors that can impact both their academic experience and their personal well-being. These may include academic pressure and challenges associated with relationships, mental health, alcohol or other drugs, finances, etc.

If you are experiencing concerns, seeking help is a courageous thing to do for yourself. If the source of your stressors is academic, please contact me so that we can find solutions together.
