Cost for Services
While consultative visits and certain services are offered at no charge to eligible students, other services are offered at a discounted rate. Please review our Financial Policy for detailed information.
COVERED BY THE MEDICAL SERVICES FEE
The following services are included in the Medical Services Fee:
- Medical consultation with a physician or nurse practitioner
- Nursing care
- Blood pressure check
- HIV/AIDS information
- Six individual counseling sessions per semester
- Health education sessions and health promotion outreach
- Substance misuse prevention education and referrals
- Birth control prescription counseling
- Medical referral advice
- Foreign travel advice
NOT COVERED BY THE MEDICAL SERVICES FEE
The following services are not included in the Medical Services Fee:
- Pharmacy, laboratory, and x-ray services
- Gynecological lab testing and procedures
- Psychiatric assessment and medication management
- Durable medical equipment (braces, splints, walking boots, etc.)
- Selected physical exams
- Immunizations and TB tests
- Minor procedures
- Medical records, including additional immunization copies

Payment Info
Payment or arrangement for payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, credit and debit cards. Charges not paid on the date of service will be added to your student account and must be paid through MyMav or at the Office of Student Accounts in Davis Hall.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
It is your responsibility to provide us with your most current health insurance information. Please note that UTA Health Services only accepts and file claims for the UT System Student Health Insurance Plan (UT SHIP). Health Services does not currently contract with any other insurance plans or programs. If you have private health insurance, you will be charged the same discounted rate as self-pay students.
