Register for the TSIA2

Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a state law requiring all Texas public institutions, including UT Arlington, to determine college readiness in Reading, Writing, and Math for all degree-seeking undergraduate students, both on campus and online. The TSIA2 is the name of the assessment test and is the measurement used to assess college readiness. Tip: Check out this list to see if you qualify for an exemption.

Registering for TSIA2 FAQs

  • View the TSI PAA and Registration Guide here and follow the registration steps.
  • Pre-Assessment Activity is required under Texas law for all students before they take the TSIA2. It will cover the following:
    • Why you are being tested.
    • How How the TSIA2 works, including calculator and highlighter tutorials and practice test questions.
    • How test results impact your postsecondary options
    • Resources available to you.
  • UTA uses the PAA provided by Accuplacer
TSIA2 is an untimed, multiple-choice, computer-based adaptive assessment, which means that the questions increase or decrease in difficulty based on how you respond. It is used to determine your college readiness in the subjects of reading, writing, and/or math. Check out the TSI PAA and Registration Guide.pdf for more information.
  • Whole Test (Math, ELAR, & Essay): $58
  • Math Only: $23
  • ELAR & Essay: $43
  • ELAR Only: $23
  • Essay Only: $23
  • No additional proctoring fee if testing in-person at UTA
  • If you choose to test online, the proctoring company (Meazure Learning) will charge a separate proctoring fee starting at $28.
