By Dr. Maria Yareli Delgado, the inaugural Senior Director of Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives at the University of Texas at Arlington. She also serves as a Research Associate at the Center for Mexican American Studies and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. A proud UTA alumna, Dr. Delgado is the founder of the Hispanic Serving Graduate Leadership Certificate and brings over fifteen years of experience in academic and student affairs. Her research focuses on women of color in leadership, community colleges, student access, and Latino populations in Hispanic Serving Institutions. Dr. Delgado’s work has been published in leading academic journals, and she continues to advocate for equity in higher education through her scholarship and leadership.
