MFA: Admission Process

 

The Master of Fine Arts is a professional degree in the practice of art. The program of study proposed here is designed to guide and encourage students in the development of their skills, the definition of their goals and the recognition of their responsibilities as artists. The educational objective is to provide training that will make it possible for each student in the program to achieve professional excellence in their field of choice.

Applying to the MFA program requires two separate applications. One application is for UTA. One application is for the Art Department.

The online application form for UTA is available on the UTA Graduate School website, or directly from the ApplyUTA website.

The application for the Art Department is completed through Slideroom. Information needed to complete this application can be found in the "How To Apply" link in the left menu.

Both applications must be completed by the deadlines below for consideration.

The MFA program at UTA does not require the GRE test.

Fall Admission

The M.F.A. application deadline is March 1. It is necessary that any student who wishes to be considered for admission submit complete application by or before this date.
