Course and Class Fees

Distance Learning Fees: $20.00-$500.00 per course. To defray costs of providing distance learning courses as defined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. (TEC 54.504) Specific

  • Distance Education Fee: $25.00 per credit hour. To defray costs of producing and offering distance education courses.  
  • Engineering Internet Fee: $75.00 per credit hour. To defray costs of producing and offering Engineering internet courses.
  • Nursing Internet Course Fee: $95.00 per class. To defray costs of producing and offering Nursing internet courses.
  • Social Work Internet Course Fee: $65.00 per credit hour. To defray costs of producing and offering Social Work internet courses.

3D Printer Lab Fee: $75.00. To defray the costs associated with maintaining 3D printers including materials and supplies, service contracts and software licenses. (TEC 54.501(a)). Specific

Clinical Experience Fee: $250.00 - $750.00. To defray the cost associated with administering a field-based clinical in educator preparation certification programs (TEC 54.504). Specific 

Field Trip Fee: Varies based on actual cost. To defray transportation and related costs associated with course-related field trips (TEC 54.504). Specific

Forensic Science Materials Fee: $25.00. To defray the costs associated with course materials and/or activities (TEC 54.504). Specific

Inclusive Access Fee: Varies based on actual cost. To cover costs associated with providing digital course materials in lieu of printed textbooks and/or other printed materials. (TEC 54.504). Specific

Music Fee: $100.00 - $700.00 per course when individual coaching or instruction is the usual method of instruction (TEC 54.051 [l]). Specific

OIT Course Cloud Software Subscription Fee: $30.00 per course. To defray the costs associated with providing students with the appropriate software as it relates to their curriculum. (TEC 54.504) Specific

Simulation Lab Fee: $70.00 per credit hour. To defray the costs associated with maintaining the Smart Hospital and the Smart Lab. (TEC 54.501(a)). Specific

Social Work Professional Liability Insurance: $12.50. To defray the costs of insurance premiums and other administrative costs. (TEC 54.504). Specific

NRODE: Varies. Nonresident students who are enrolled in a distant education course(s) and are physically residing outside the state of Texas are charged a fee in lieu of Mandatory Tuition and Fees. The fee rate is equivalent to Tuition and Mandatory Fees for a Texas Resident enrolled in the same distant education course(s) plus an additional $20 per SCH. Some courses may have an additional Distance Learning Course Fee of $20 - $500 per course.
