Over the years, students will develop many skills from coursework, extracurricular activities, internships, jobs, and their total life experiences - each of their experiences has laid the groundwork for building transferable skills. The ability to identify their transferable skills and communicate them to potential employers will greatly increase their success during the job search. Students can come find out how to identify these skills and practice their pitch!
Are you ready to begin your job search? This workshop will provide a breakdown of the job search process and the crucial steps to take in between to reassure you’re on the right path to a future career opportunity. We will discuss the initial stages of applications to salary negotiations.
Market yourself and gain an edge in today's job market by learning how to create an effective resume and cover letter. We will discuss components of a resume, potential ways to improve your resume and cover letter; go over proper formatting of resumes; determining what content to include and what to leave out; writing effective accomplishment statements; and cover letters format.
In the workplace we encounter various situations, this presentation will go over many scenarios that may occur in the workplace and students will learn the appropriate ways to respond in a professional setting. The flow of this presentation is interactive, and discussion based to help students prepare for the professional world.
