UTA launches Center for Space and Data Science
In January 2026, UTA established the Center for Space and Data Science (CSDS) to enhance its role as a leader in space research and education. Supported by $1.5 million from the National Science Foundation, the center leverages research efforts from NASA and the U.S. Air Force. Its mission includes training the space workforce through new degree programs in space physics and data science, positioning UTA to make a major impact on the space industry in Texas and beyond.
