What is EAC?

EAC was established by UT System Board of Regents in August 2000 and is a selected representative advisory group that works with, and on behalf of The University of Texas System (UT System). It is advisory in nature and intended to be representative of the staff of the institutions of UT System and Administration.


Mission

  • To provide a forum for communicating ideas and information between employees, the Board of Regents, and the Executive Officers at UT System.
  • Subcommittees consider issues that staff propose to the EAC.

Purpose

  • To provide a vehicle for communication (to and from the UT System Institutions).
  • To facilitate the flow of ideas and information between staff, and the Board of Regents, the institutions, and the Executive Officers of UT System Administration.

At Large:

  • To actively participate in discussion and vote on motions made in EAC meetings.
  • To communicate staff concerns from the representative’s respective institutions to EAC.
  • To serve on an Ad Hoc Committee

At UTA:

  • To solicit staff concerns prior to EAC meetings.
  • To promptly communicate issues discussed and actions taken at every EAC meeting to Staff Advisory Council (SAC) at the representative’s institution.
  • 2 representative and 1 alternate are appointed to the EAC by the Institution’s President.
  • Means for selecting the representatives and alternate are established by each institution.
  • Each representative will serve as a member for a 3-year term.
  • To define, analyze, and make recommendations on employee issues.
  • Each year the EAC meets with the Board of Regents to present information and make recommendations regarding issues of importance to the employees of the UT System.
