Frequently Asked Questions

All transcripts UTA produces in response to a student’s request are “Official”. They are printed on special security paper with the Registrar’s signature, the date printed, and the school seal. Any transcript we provide to the student will also indicate “PICKED UP BY STUDENT”. Some agencies do not consider these to be official. Be sure to check with the agency requesting the transcript to verify what they consider to be official. Most schools will accept transcripts that are issued to the student only if they are placed in a sealed envelope and have the Registrar’s signature over the seal of the envelope. We will provide them in this manner if you request that your transcripts be issued in Signed and Sealed Envelopes.
If the transcript is being sent to a foreign government that requires it to be authenticated, then we will notarize the transcript before we mail it as long as you indicate this in your request. See Notary Public Services for additional information. If you have forms needing to be completed and mailed with the transcript, then we will do so. However, we cannot send official documents from other sources with our transcripts. You will have to send them separately.

It depends on how you request the transcript. For mail orders please allow up to 10 business days to receive your transcript. Frequently it will be less than five business days, but occasionally, depending on the time of the year, it will be more.

For mail and electronic transcripts (PDF) transcript requests are being sent to a place of business or another university, please allow 10 business days to give the receiver time receive and process the transcript.

Yes. Transcripts are available for pick-up on an in-person, rush basis only. For in-person official rush transcript orders, the fee for each transcript is $10 with an additional $10 rush fee per order. The official rush transcript order must be placed and paid online via Marketplace in the Office of the Registrar.

Yes. For students requesting to have another individual pick up their transcript, please complete and submit the Document Pickup Authorization form online. You will need to upload a copy of your valid government-issued photo ID. No selfies, please.

Please do not email or fax authorization pick-up information to Parchment.

The person picking up your transcript will also be asked to show their valid government-issued photo ID for verification purposes.

In most cases, you should get it the next day if you select Federal Express Next Business Day Service (next business day delivery time depends on the location the transcript will be delivered to. For example, remote locations within the continental US may take 2 days; delivery to Alaska or Hawaii may also take 2 days; delivery to international locations may take between 48 to 72 hours).

If there is a problem with your record which prevents transcript issuance, such as a hold, then we will not release the transcript until the problem is resolved.

An official transcript will not be issued for students with holds related to unpaid university policy violation charges (parking citations, housing citations, etc.) and unreturned university property charges (keys, computer, athletic equipment, etc.).
The transcript payment must accompany the transcript request. When the payment is received, the transcript will be produced. If you make payment via the web, then your credit card will be billed after the transcript is sent.
Yes. Contact Parchment Customer Service at www.parchment.com/chat-support. An e-mail will be sent to you each time there is a status change in the transcript order. From receipt of the order to notice when the transaction is completed, you are automatically notified each step of the way. This becomes especially important if there are any problems with the order, such as holds or encumbrances.
