COMMUNICATION: EFFECTIVE DEVELOPMENT, INTERPRETATION AND EXPRESSION OF IDEAS THROUGH WRITTEN, ORAL AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION
Effective communication skills are highly valued by employers and are essential to a person’s ability to engage in civil society. Communication skills are used in interpersonal, small group and organizational settings. At UTA, we measure Communication as part of our Core Curriculum Objective assessment process using evaluative rubrics designed by faculty members with many years of communication experience. In assessing Communication, we consider context and purpose, structure and organization, content development, sources and evidence, and control of syntax and mechanics. The rubrics used to evaluate Communication appear below, along with results reports from Core Curriculum Objective assessment activities Communication at UTA.
