Visit the Center for Distance Education’s training page for training resources related to Canvas, Canvas Studio, Respondus, Unicheck, Ally, and more! CDE also provides customized, departmental workshops and individual assistance upon request. Please email cdetraining@uta.edu with any “how-to” questions concerning Canvas or with requests for training not currently scheduled. Click the Registration link to the left to view the CDE training workshop schedule.

All employees can access Siteimprove by browsing to myapps.uta.edu and clicking on the Siteimprove icon. In the upper, right banner, click on the Help Center and Academy button and select Academy from the drop-down list. Siteimprove courses are self-paced and available 24/7. Topics vary and include:

The Department of Information Resources is offering free training via Level Access‘ Access Academy for the following roles: developers, designers, QA, engineers/specialists, content authors, procurement, managers, HR, marketing and communications. To access these free training resources, first you must register. Contact accessibility@uta.edu for the registration link. It is not currently published here because it changes frequently.  The Access Academy includes 60 self-paced courses ranging from five minutes to ninety minutes. The academy also offers webinars throughout each month.

World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) is an organization that publishes the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) criteria. The criteria is organized by level A (the minimum requirement), AA (a secondary level requirement), or AAA (an advanced requirement). The Texas Administrative Code requires our webpages to meet all A/AA criteria. This WCAG Overview includes a “How to Meet WCAG 2 (Quick Reference)” link as well as links to the standards.

WebAIM offers an exhaustive list of training, tools, keyboard shortcuts and simulation resources. WebAIM is a non-profit organization based at the Center for Persons with Disabilities at Utah State University.

The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights provides a video series covering a variety of topics on digital access in education. Per DOE, “these videos have a wide ranging coverage for those who want to know: What makes technology accessible for individuals with disabilities? And how can I make my site or platform more accessible?”
