Resources to support faculty advisors of postdoctoral scholars

POSTDOC MENTORING RESOURCES

UTA Postdoctoral Success promotes the research and overall advancement of postdocs through career development support, networking resources, community-building opportunities, curation of information about on-campus and off-campus resources, and advocacy for postdoc needs.

Postdoc Spotlight Research Seminar Series – Postdocs present their research at a seminar that is open to the campus-wide community. Seminars are held twice a month.

Professional Development Seminar Series – A series of workshops, panels, and presentations to prepare postdocs for faculty positions and to diversify the professoriate. An event in this series is held monthly.

Postdoc Mentoring – A monthly workshop to train postdocs in self-evaluation of their professional skills, values and interests. The workshop also provides training in writing an Individual Development Plan (IDP) so that postdocs can streamline their skill and knowledge-development toward a career path that aligns with their values and interests. IDPs will be integrated into postdoc mentoring committee activities. Postdoc mentoring committees composed of 2-3 faculty will meet once every 6 months to guide postdocs with professional development.
