PATS Receives Unprecedented 2024 Excellence Awards

2024 Awards wonUTA Parking & Transportation is thrilled to announce that the team has received an astounding eight awards over the past year, highlighting their commitment to innovation and outstanding service.

First and foremost, the department was honored with the IPMI Organization of the Year award. Larry Cummings Jr., the field operations coordinator, was named TPTA Parking Employee of the Year. The exceptional customer service team, comprising Deborah Tate, Helen Shelden, Todd Smith, Rosalinda Gloria, and Danita Roland, earned the UTA Outstanding Maverick Award for their dedicated and empathetic service. Dr. Greg Hladik, the executive director of auxiliary services, was recognized with the IPMI Professional Excellence Award for Innovation and the National Association of College Auxiliary Services Lifetime Achievement Award.

The team's pioneering efforts in sustainable practices were also recognized, with the IPMI Apex Award for Innovation awarded to Sahadat Hossain and the parking team for their groundbreaking research integrating recycled plastics into asphalt. Additionally, the TPTA Award of Excellence for Parking Structure - Restoration was awarded for LOT 49 and F10 for the first global installation of plastic in parking lots. Finally, the field team, consisting of Adam Kaufman, Larry Cummings Jr., Larry Cummings III, Robert James, Rodney Gardener, and Oleg Grobshteyn, received the UTA Performance Excellence Award for their outstanding work.

The department remains committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that UTA remains a leader in transportation and parking services. Since 2018, UTA Parking & Transportation has received a total of 15 awards, been featured in over 200 peer-reviewed and industry publications, and made an $8.1 million impact on campus services through savings, efficiencies, and value propositions.
