Free Transportation Options

Students and employees of UTA can take advantage of free transportation services around campus and in Arlington. We outline these services below:
Shuttle Buses
The UTA MavMover shuttle buses provide rides around campus and to select off-campus apartments from 7:30am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Riders can download the Doublemap app to view estimated bus arrival times and routes and set alerts for approaching buses.
Express Route
Launched in Fall 2023, the Express Route provides quick service from the Reduced-Rate and Remote parking lots to the University Center. The vans arrive every 5-8 minutes and can drop riders off at the University Center in about 8 minutes. This is a great alternative to larger student or employee parking lots during the first weeks of the semester-- and the parking permit for these lots is the cheapest on campus! Shopping Service to Walmart
Every weeknight evening, the MavMover shuttle bus launches a route from UTA to Walmart. This free ride often is standing room only, so arrive early to ensure you have a seat. The bus departs the University Center Starbucks on the :00 and :30, and departs Walmart on the :15 and :45 of each hour.
Late Night Escort Service
Every night, the LNES provides hundreds of rides to the UTA community as an on-demand service. Think of this as a campus Uber or Lyft, where you request a ride, and we pick you up on your schedule. Download the UTA MavMover app to get started. The service runs from 7pm-3am seven days per week with an average wait time of 20 minutes.
RAPID Self-Driving Shuttles
Students and employees can take a ride in a fleet of self-driving shuttles across campus and in Downtown Arlington. These vehicles, supervised by an in-person ambassador, are available through the Arlington Transportation app. Use your UTA email address to register in the app to receive free rides. Non-UTA fares are $3-$5 each.
Arlington Via
The City of Arlington provides citizens with an affordable rideshare service through the Arlington Transportation app. This service covers all of Arlington, with additional connections to the Trinity Metro for access to Fort Worth and Centre Port station for access to the greater DFW region. Fares on this service range from $3-5 per trip, but UTA students can request a promo code for a discount on their fare. Request the promo code in the MavPark parking portal.
