Teacher's Retirement System (TRS)
- TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan. Retirement benefits are based on legislatively determined formulas based on age, years of service and average of years of highest salary
Optional Retirement Program (ORP)
- ORP is a defined contribution plan. Benefits are based on the performance of the investments selected and are controlled by the employee.

- Current legislation authorizes the number of State legal holidays to be observed and provides that educational institutions may schedule the actual observance of these holidays.
- Hourly employees are paid on a proportionate basis for time worked.
Vacation

Eligibility: Non-Academic, regular employees accrue paid vacation leave immediately; however new employees cannot be granted vacation leave until completion of 6 months of continuous service.
- The accrual rate is based on length of service and percent time worked.
- New employees who work 100% accrue 8 hours per month. Part time employees will accrue vacation leave on a proportionate basis for time worked.

Employee Tuition Assistance Plan (ETAP)
Beginning in summer 2023, UTA employees will have access to a new tuition assistance program, the UTA Employee Tuition Affordability Program (UTA-ETAP). UTA-ETAP replaces the current tuition reimbursement process by paying for eligible courses upfront, much like a scholarship.

Roundhouse Scholarship
The employees of UTA have established the Roundhouse Scholarship to provide tuition assistance for employees or the spouse or dependents of employees. To be eligible, the employee must be benefits-eligible and have been employed by UTA for at least one year prior to the beginning of the term for which the scholarship is applied. This scholarship can be applied towards the costs of tuition, fees or books and can be used for undergraduate and graduate programs. The amount offered is contingent upon funding and is subject to change.

Longevity Pay
Paid by: UT Arlington
Eligibility: Immediately. All regular, non-academic employees who are appointed 100%
- Employees with at least 24 months of service are entitled to longevity pay in the amount of $20 for every 2 years of service.
- Excludes faculty members and law enforcement personnel who are eligible for hazardous duty pay.

Eligibility: All regular employees who are appointed to work 20 hours or more per week and for at least 4 ½ months.
- A program established for employee recognition based on length of service.
- The first service award is presented for 10 years of service and in 5 year increments thereafter.
