Grad Cap Contest and Photo Raffle
How to enter
All UTA students participating in Spring 2025 ceremonies can submit their contest entries during the entry period via email.
To enter the Grad Cap Contest, send a picture of your decorated cap to socialmedia@uta.edu. Entrants are asked to identify their entries by putting "Spring 2025 Grad Cap Contest" in the email subject line. To enter the grad photo contest, submit a picture of a Spring 2025 graduating UTA Maverick and list "Spring 2025 Grad Photo Contest." Emails MUST be from a @mavs.uta.edu email address and include your first and last name, major, and what your cap design means to you. To enter the Grad Photo Raffle, submit a picture of a Spring 2025 graduating UTA Maverick, your Instagram tag, and degree in the body of the email. Please list “Spring 2025 Grad Photo Raffle” in the email subject line.
Grad Cap Contest Timing
Entry period: Tuesday, April 1st – Friday, April 25th
Voting period: Monday, April 28th – Saturday, May 3rd
Winners announced: Monday, May 5th
Voting for the Grad Cap Contest
All eligible entries will be uploaded to a Spring #ForeverMaverick album on the UTA Facebook page after the entry period closes. Voting will commence on Monday, April 28th. The UTA community will vote by “liking” its favorite grad cap design. All Facebook reactions will count as votes. Voting ends Saturday, May 3rd.
Winner Selection for the Grad Cap Contest
The contest entry with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be the first-place prize package winner and will receive a diploma frame from the UTA Bookstore. The contest entries with the second and third most votes will win second and third place and be featured on our page. The first-place winner will be notified via email and will have seven days to respond and claim their prize package.
Grad Photo Raffle Timing
Entry period: Monday, April 7th – Monday, May 5th
Winner announced and photos posted: Wednesday, May 7th
Submissions for the Grad Photo Raffle
All eligible entries will be submitted into a raffle. The UTA social media team will randomly select 10 photos. The first photo selected will receive a diploma frame from the UTA Bookstore and be featured on UTA’s main Instagram account. In addition, the team will select another nine photos to be featured on UTA’s main Instagram account. Photos featured will be tagged according to the Instagram handle submitted.
Eligibility & Additional Information
The contest and raffle are open to all UTA students graduating during the Spring 2025 commencement ceremonies. By partaking in this contest, you agree that UTA may use your submitted photo and post content for marketing and advertising purposes. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or associated with Facebook.
