Building Management Assistant
Building Management Assistants will do minor maintenance around the University Center and Commons, check for needed repairs and normal maintenance, assist with furniture, event equipment, and room repairs, make parts for repairs, enter work orders with Facilities Maintenance for extensive repairs, log all issues and update work logs. This job also transports metals for recycling, surplus transfers, and other materials to/from other buildings, disassembles equipment for salvage, helps with major events or urgent issues and drives UT Arlington vehicles and does other duties as assigned.
Guest Relations Specialist
UC Campus Information Center and Commons Information Desk
The Guest Relations Specialist will greet and be attentive to guests of Commons & University Center; provide customer service in person, on the phone, and through email; utilize web sites and other sources to accurately answer questions about a wide variety of subjects related to UT Arlington; handle study room reservations for Commons; assist with setup needs of meetings or events; maintain cleanliness of front desk area and meeting rooms; and provide assistance to office staff as needed.
Senior Guest Relations Specialist
This position is responsible for all previously listed duties of a Guest Relations Specialist in addition to the following: This position takes an active administrative role in event management and overseeing the Commons. As such, this position reviews and inputs Common study room reservations into EMS. The Senior Specialist also verifies event details and assists in scheduling staff to ensure events have the proper amount of support. They manage and maintain equipment at the Campus Information Center at the UC as well as the Commons. Lastly, the Senior Specialist participates in the interview process for new hires.
Receptionist
Student Assistant - UC Ops Front Desk
The Receptionist will welcome and interact with clients that visit the office. Answer, return, and make phone calls to organizations and departments on campus. Check emails and respond to questions. Check availability of space for client using scheduling program. Office filing and running reports. Keep the front reception area picked up and supplies stocked. Provide assistance to office staff, as needed. Run errands, as needed. Exhibit integrity and honesty when dealing with confidential information. Other duties, as assigned.
Setup Crew Member
The Setup Crew members set up and keep track of the University Center equipment on and off site. They are tasked with assisting in all aspects of event managements, including any emergency needs of the building.
Crew Lead
Crew Leaders supervise, train, and assist setup crew members with setting up and keeping track of University Center equipment. They ensure that all setups are accurate and completed in a timely fashion. Upon completed of setups, crew leaders perform rounds of the building to verify that all setups are correct. Crew Leaders keep a log of their crew’s shift details. They also operate university vehicles for the transportation of University Center equipment for any offsite events.
Event Personnel
Event Personnel monitor events in the University Center for both security and customer service purposes; including the assisting of clients, staff member, and other university departments with last minute requests and troubleshooting technical equipment. Additionally, Event Personnel assist with training and supervising both the Crew Leaders and Setup Crew members. Event Personnel duties also include all those of Crew Leaders.
Operations Assistant
Operations Assistants monitor and facilitate high-profile events in the University Center and other locations on campus. Operations Assistants complete advance setups for clients such as light hangs, verifying event notes, and other forms of audio visual support. They provide staff scheduling assistance and conduct weekly training sessions with all members of student event staff. Operations Assistants are responsible for the duties of all the event student staff positions.
