Application Fee & Fee Waivers

Pay Application Fee

If you did not submit your application fee at the time of submitting your admissions application, you can pay it online. Please note application fees are non-refundable.

Qualifying & Requesting

First-Year & Transfer Students

An undergraduate application fee waiver will be applied if the applicant meets any of the following eligibility criteria:

  • SAT, ACT or NACAC Fee waiver
  • Applied to FAFSA and is eligible to receive Pell Grant (provide a copy of the most recent FAFSA Submission Summary)
  • Annual income that falls within USDA Food and Nutrition Service or Free or Reduced Lunch Program
  • Enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g. GEAR UP and TRIO programs)
  • Family receives public assistance
  • Homeless or in foster care
  • Orphan or ward of the state
  • Serving or served in the U.S. Military
  • Attend and apply onsite at an admissions recruitment event

Official documentation must be provided to support the request. Requests submitted without proper documentation will not be considered.

International First-Year & Transfer Students

International first-year & transfer students students must email utaadmissions@uta.edu for fee waiver inquiries.

Graduate Students

Graduate applicants interested in obtaining an application fee waiver should reach out to their department prior to submitting their application for a fee waiver code.

Please note that Accelerated Online, Coordinated Admissions Program, transient students, and students pursuing a second baccalaureate are not eligible for fee waivers.

To request a fee waiver, first-year should first select "Request fee waiver" on their Apply Texas application, and then demonstrate financial hardship by ONE of the following options using the Application Fee Waiver Request Form

Option 1: Submit an SAT, ACT, or NACAC application fee waiver. Talk with your guidance counselor to obtain an application fee waiver form.

Option 2: Provide a copy of the most recent FAFSA Submission Summary if you applied to FAFSA and are eligible to receive Pell Grant.

Option 3: Submit a copy of page one of the most recent year's income tax form (Form 1040). This form must reflect your total family income at or below the free/reduced lunch eligibility requirements.

Option 4: If you/your guardian are unable to submit page one of the income tax form, you may submit documentation showing the following:

  • Family receives public assistance
  • Homeless or in foster care
  • Orphan or ward of the state

Option 5: Submit documentation showing your enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g. GEAR UP and TRIO programs)

Option 6: Submit a document showing you served or served in the U.S. Military

Option 7: Attend and apply onsite at an admissions recruitment event and submit proof of attendance.
