We need students who would like to volunteer with international refugees that are resettled in the Fort Worth area. We could use students to teach ESL, job readiness, health and hygiene, or cultural orientation classes for our refugees. Volunteers can also tutor refugee children or organize a donations drive and then distribute the donated goods to the refugees. Additionally, students who are fluent in a current refugee language, such as Burmese, Chin, Karen, Kirundi, Nepali, or Arabic, are greatly needed to serve as volunteer interpreters. A volunteer application and criminal background check are required for all volunteers. If a volunteer plans to continue working with our refugees after the semester is completed, they will need to take a TB skin test. We provide volunteer orientations to all new volunteers working with our refugees. Orientation is required.
