Internship Program

The Department of History & Geography has a limited number of undergraduate and graduate internship opportunities available each semester. These are reserved for high performing students interested in expanding their educational experience to include hands-on work and training at local museums, archives, and non-profit organizations.

Qualifications:

History majors or minors entering their junior (60 hours of course work) or senior (90 hours of course work) years by the start of their internship semester and who meet the following benchmarks:

  • Completed HIST 3300: “Introduction to Historical Research” with a grade of at least a B.
  • Preference will be given to students who are actively enrolled in or have already completed HIST 4395: “History Seminar.”
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA in History courses & 3.25 GPA overall.
  • Completion of one of more non-survey courses relevant to the placement institution where applicable.
    • Example: You must have completed at least one course in military history to apply for an internship at the National Medal of Honor Museum.
  • In addition to the application form below, students must submit a cover letter outlining their proposed placement, detailing their qualifications, and goals in seeking an internship.

  • 342nd Tarrant County Court (Only open to Legal Track History majors)
  • Faculty specific projects
