Endowed and Faculty Research Support

Through endowed faculty and research support, donors make powerful statements about their commitment to accelerating faculty excellence, advancing knowledge, and enhancing the learning environment.

ENDOWED FACULTY AND RESEARCH SUPPORT

Endowed Chairs and Professorships draw gifted faculty from around the world with the expertise essential to enhancing The University of Texas at Arlington's research enterprise. In turn, these renowned professors increase the intellectual capital of a region by attracting talented Ph.D. candidates, master's students, and undergraduates and mentoring them through graduation. Moreover, these endowments have a multiplier effect on the original investment, bringing additional funding for research projects.

As experts in their fields, every UTA faculty member who holds an endowed chair or professorship captures an aspect of their discipline unlike anyone else. Endowed Chairs are awarded to deans, department chairs, and superior faculty to encourage and advance leadership, scholarly efforts, and research. Endowed Professorships are awarded to outstanding faculty to reward and enhance scholarly efforts, teaching, and research. Endowed Faculty Fellowships support excellence in teaching and research regardless of rank or tenure, including visiting scholars-in-residence.

Endowed Chairs and Professorships enable accomplished faculty to pursue groundbreaking discoveries and leave an indelible mark on UTA and the world. A permanent investment in the University's future, these endowments may be established through outright gifts as well as estate gifts. They represent synergistic symbols of a donor's commitment to providing UTA with greater opportunities for growth for generations to come.
