(’85 BA, Political Science), 49, May 16 in Houston. Honored as a UT Arlington Distinguished Alumna in 2006, Ms. Ponce was a lawyer and senior vice president for Halliburton, which provides products and services to the energy industry. During 22 years with the company, she developed the Environmental Law Practice Group, oversaw 15 offices worldwide as chief commercial counsel, and became the company’s first chief ethics and compliance officer.
