¡Ya llego la hora! The EDGE Center is proud to host a variety of events and programs that support graduate students’ personal, professional and academic success. All events are open to ALL graduate students enrolled at UTA Main Campus and Fort Worth Campus.


Signature Events & Programs

Translated as “moving forward”, ¡Pa’lante! Graduate Student Jumpstart is a one-day, on-campus experience designed to give new incoming UTA graduate students an opportunity to connect with peers, explore campus resources, and learn all the essential skills needed to succeed as a Mav Grad. The event will feature panels with current students, faculty, breakout sessions with numerous campus offices, motivational speakers, and a Graduate Student Organization & Campus Resource Fair.

The Life After Grad School: Speaker Series invites professionals from a number of industry areas to present, focusing on what companies want to see, such as resumes, interviewing, professional success and more.

Designed for grads by grads, this series of workshops will help students build skills and develop the materials they’ll need to succeed in job searches, doctoral applications, and fellowship competitions.

Translated as “enjoy your meal”, ¡Buen Provecho! Professional Dining Etiquette 101 will guide graduate students through the appropriate dining etiquette for professional social and networking settings, including place settings and social interactions.

Translated as “without fear of success,” the Sin Miedo al Exito: Graduate Student Conference brings together graduates for an empowering day of personal and professional development. Through featured keynotes, breakout sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, students will walk away better equipped to continue their graduate and professional journeys.

Translated to “perspectives”; focused on bringing students a new perspective on the journey towards success, the Perspectivas Book Club is a core initiative of the EDGE Center’s efforts to build community and a sense of belonging for our UTA graduate students.

Writing support is at the center of our efforts to increase graduate student persistence and graduation. EDGE Writing Days to provides direct assistance to graduate students with academic writing, research development, proofreading, and more.
