Services other than standard building maintenance are considered special services and chargeable to the requesting department. Departmental services performed by Facilities Management for the benefit of a department should be funded by the requesting department. The Department Chair must approve use of the department funds for these services. Cost estimates will include a 15% service fee. This support fee covers the cost of personnel paid from the service account and administrative support.
Campus renovations must be approved by the Space Resource Allocation Committee (SRAC) before any renovations are considered if the proposed renovation will change the use of a space or the function that is assigned to the space. Facilities Management oversees all renovations to a building or departmental space and charges a 6% support fee for the office renovation and a 7% support fee for lab renovations. These support fees cover the cost for administrative support, design, and construction management services. For additional information regarding this policy, please visit CO-UF-PR-04.
Assist university administrators with various reports related to campus facilities including forecasting, capital improvements, capital renewals, and deferred maintenance. All of which are periodically required throughout the year by the University of Texas System and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
