WHAT CAN I DO WITH A MAJOR IN ENGLISH?

Majoring in English will introduce you to writing from across the globe from the earliest period of the language’s history to the present, when digital technologies allow us to interact with written text more frequently and easily than ever before. English majors are ready for today’s job market, where the rapid pace of technological change calls for responsive employees who have the curiosity and knowhow to acquire new skills. English majors are also strong writers, learning how to craft the English language to communicate most effectively to different audiences. When you major in English, you learn to plan projects, work in teams, complete research, and meet deadlines. These are the skills most valued by today’s employers, and UTA English majors have used them to succeed in a wide range of careers, including the law, teaching, technical writing, and management.
