Honors College Events

Honors Students must attend three registration reward events each semester by the priority deadline (October 31st) to receive first-day registration. Once students have attended three eligible events, their registration hold will be removed within two business days.
Events noted with ** are not eligible to earn Registration Rewards.
Note: The Honors College loves acronyms, here's a key to help you decipher details below.

19 - First Day of Classes
23 - Welcome Back Party - Brazos Park, 11:00 AM
All new and returning UTA Honors College students are invited to stop by Brazos Park for this come-and-go event. There will be snow cones, opportunities to meet your peer mentors, learn ways to get involved in Honors, and receive your first official Honors College shirt!

1 - Bingo Night - UC Rio Grande, 6:00 PM
Join us for a fun night of bingo, snacks, and most importantly - bragging rights.

10 - Ramen Bar - College Hall CAB, 6:00 PM
Start with a base and add topping to make your own ramen creation. everybody’s so creative!
11 - Mafia/Werewolves Game - College Hall CAB, 2:00 PM & 2:45 PM
Mafia and the werewolves are teaming up? Mafia vs. Werewolves‽ Guess you’ll have to stop by to see what the plan is.

16 - Culture Night - College Hall CAB, 6:00 PM

18 - Honors Open House (Family & Friends Weekend)** - College Hall CAB, 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Show off the Honors College to your Friends and Family and potentially win some merch!
19 - Honors College Academic Showcase (Family & Friends Weekend)** - College Hall CAB, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
Honors seniors and alumni will be showcasing their independent research and how their incredible work translated into their Honors Capstone projects. Please join us in the CAB to see the culmination of the Honors College degree in a research poster format. Students will be presenting across disciplines.

28 - Food & Toiletry Drive Benefiting the Maverick Pantry
Bring 3 or more items to receive 1 registration reward for the Fall semester. We will be collecting donations from October 28th through October 31st

Good ol’ fashioned pumpkin decorating, with less knives… okay no knives.

22 - Honors Research Symposium - UC Rio Grande, Time TBD
Honors students who have completed their Capstone projects will present their research at the Honors Research Symposium. All Honors students are welcome to come and walk through this poster presentation.
