Having a hard time finishing your thesis or dissertation? Looking for feedback on your writing style or content? Forming a writing group is a great way to help overcome writing challenges. If you decide to start your own writing group, you can apply for a Writing Group Grant.
Writing Group Grant Workshop | January 21, 3-4pm, Online |
The graduate school is offering $200 Writing Group Grants for the Spring 2025 semester to graduate students who form and lead their own writing group. Currently enrolled UT Arlington graduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply for the grant. The deadline for Spring 2025 proposals is Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. The proposal must address the following questions:
You must fill out all boxes on the electronic application in order to be considered for the grant. Students who are receiving need based financial aid should find out if they are eligible for this grant prior to submitting an application. All writing group members must be current UT Arlington graduate students in good academic standing. Preference will be given to doctoral students who are in the final stages of their graduate work. Priority will be given to groups that are 3-5 members in size. Please note that the $200 Writing Group Grant will be awarded to the writing group leader only.
The grant is awarded for one semester. If you are awarded the grant, you must meet the following requirements:
This workshop will cover the best practices for leading writing groups and offer tips for crafting a successful Writing Group Grant proposal.
