Center On Stochastic Modeling, Optimization, & Statistics (Cosmos)

COSMOS was founded by Dr. Bill Corley and Dr. Victoria Chen to develop new methods for modeling and making sound decisions in complex real-world systems (https://cosmos.uta.edu/). Gifts to COSMOS provide support for COSMOS students, including travel to conferences, research assistantships, and the COSMOS Scholarship, which recognizes a student volunteer for outstanding contributions to COSMOS research. Elinor Pape Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund honors Professor Emeritus Dr. Elinor Pape for her dedication as faculty mentor and outstanding educator in service to the department.  Dr. Pape was a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, a Fellow of ABET, and a recipient of the American Society for Engineering Education Centennial Medallion. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding undergraduate and/or graduate students majoring in Industrial Engineering.

G.T. Stevens, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund

This scholarship honors Professor Emeritus of Industrial Engineering, Dr. G.T. Stevens, Jr., who also served as Department Chair for twenty-three years. Dr. Stevens was a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and he received several awards and honors for his knowledge of engineering economics, including the Eugene L. Grant Award from the American Society for Engineering Education and the Arthur M. Wellington Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding undergraduate and/or graduate students majoring in Industrial Engineering.

Industrial Engineering Capstone Design

This fund supports activities that facilitate the success of the undergraduate course IE 4350 Industrial Engineering Capstone Design. This course provides an open-ended design experience through the planning and design of an enterprise in which the student must demonstrate the ability to design, develop, implement, and improve integrated systems that include people, materials, information, equipment and energy. This capstone draws on material from the total industrial engineering curriculum, and capstone projects are performed in a wide range of domains, including health care, manufacturing, and the service industry.

John And Pat Priest Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

This fund was established by retired Industrial Engineering faculty member Dr. John Priest and his wife Pat.  Dr. Priest specialized in manufacturing applications and worked with Texas Instruments, Rockwell International, and General Motors prior to joining the department. Pat Priest served as COO/CFO of the Dallas Regional Chamber and has held executive positions with the Beck Group, Rosewood Property Company, and Wyndham Hotels. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Industrial Engineering that demonstrate interest and/or experience in the application of Industrial Engineering to the manufacturing industry. Keith and Carolyn Weiss Industrial Engineering Scholarship Fund

This fund was established by Industrial Engineering Alumnus Keith Weiss and his wife Carolyn to recognize students that are employed at least part-time while earning their undergraduate degree. To support his studies at UT Arlington, Keith Weiss worked full-time during summers and part-time during winters. Scholarships are awarded to employed undergraduate students majoring in Industrial Engineering.

Marjorie and Russell Priest Family Endowed Scholarship In Industrial, Manufacturing, And Systems Engineering Fund

This fund was established by retired Industrial Engineering faculty member Dr. John Priest to honor his parents Marjorie and Russell Priest. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Industrial Engineering that demonstrate interest and/or experience in the application of Industrial Engineering to the manufacturing industry. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding undergraduate and/or graduate students in the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering. Nick Fox Memorial Fund

This fund, in memory of the beloved IMSE faculty member, provides support for the department chair to address unbudgeted IMSE expenses as they arise throughout the year.  Such expenses may include scholarships, equipment purchases and maintenance, support for student organizations, and many other programs and projects.

Weiss Family Endowed Scholarship in Industrial Engineering Fund

This fund was established by Industrial Engineering Alumnus Keith Weiss to honor of his grandfather, Elmer Weiss, and his father, Merlin Weiss for their hard work and encouragement that enabled Keith to persevere.  Keith Weiss is a Six Sigma Master, and he used his Industrial Engineering degree extensively throughout his career at Texas Instruments and Raytheon. Scholarships are awarded to employed undergraduate students majoring in Industrial Engineering that demonstrate in their job what they have learned from the Industrial Engineering curriculum.
