UT Arlington is one of seven universities in Texas and two in North Texas with an Honors College devoted to exceptional students. The School of Nursing's Smart Hospital, a simulated environment with lifelike computerized manikins, is one of six sites in the world recognized as a Center of Excellence in Simulation by Laerdal Medical. The School of Architecture holds first place (tied with Rice University) in the Design Intelligence Journal’s Most Innovative Architecture Program category. The University's ROTC program is ranked first out of 21 programs in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico for overall performance. The School of Social Work and the University of Nuevo Leon in Monterrey, Mexico, jointly offered Mexico's first Ph.D. in social work. Films by UT Arlington students and alumni have appeared at major festivals such as Cannes, Sundance and Munich, won national awards and contracts with national distributors, and received Emmy and Oscar nominations. The Planetarium at UT Arlington features a 60-foot domed theater, seats 170 stargazers and boasts a state-of-the-art digital projection system. In addition to high-quality planetarium shows, the facility also hosts laser-light rock music evenings. The School of Urban and Public Affairs is listed among the nation's best graduate schools of public affairs in the U.S. News & World Report 2005 Graduate School Rankings. College of Engineering researchers are developing alternative and renewable energy sources and processes. Examples include wind- and vibration-powered piezoelectric generators, economical photovoltaic cells with high outputs, and a micro-reactor for rapidly processing vegetable oils into biodiesel fuel. The College of Business Administration has the largest Executive MBA program in China. It is being taught at three Chinese sites. The College of Education is the only college in The University of Texas System accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education.
