Therapeutic Massages

Campus Recreation offers therapeutic bodywork and massage services to the university community. Our therapist, Wes Nelson, LMT, MT120781, is licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to practice the profession of massage therapy.
Sessions can be purchased at the Services & Information desk inside the MAC or online at https://reclink.uta.edu/. 

Fees for single-session massage therapy:
• 15-minute massage - $15
• 30-minute massage - $30
• 60-minute massage - $55
• 90-minute massage - $80

Fee for available packages:
• 12-pack, 60-minute massage - $575.00
• 4-pack, 30-minute massage - $105.00
• 6-pack, 60-minute massage - $300.00
• 8-pack, 30-minute massage - $200.00

After purchase, appointments can be made by contacting Wes at 817-228-2228 or via email at wesley.nelson@uta.edu. Tipping the therapist is not permitted.

Off-site chair massage is no longer available. 

 For departments that would like to purchase a massage for their employees, we can still process payment via IDT. 
• You’ll need to provide the number of massages you’d like along with the preferred time increment (15-minute, 30-minute, 60-minute, or 90-minute), and a billable UTA Cost Center. Once processed, an electronic discount code will be provided that can be distributed to your employees. 
• The discount code can be redeemed online at https://reclink.uta.edu/ or in person at the Services & Information Desk inside the MAC. Then an appointment can be scheduled directly with the therapist. 
• This change has been made with the health and safety of our therapist and our participants as our top priority.

Meet Wes

In February 2015, Wes joined the University of Texas at Arlington as the licensed massage therapist. Since that time, over 800 individuals have seen him for table massage and several hundred more have participated in our chair massage events. Even after they have graduated, many of his clients continue to return to the Maverick Activities Center for a therapeutic massage. Whether you want to manage your pain, improve your sports performance, overcome an injury, or just need to relax from everyday pressures, massage is beneficial for almost everyone.

Hours of Availability

Spring and Fall: Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summer: Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Forms

Therapists are required to keep a Massage Questionnaire on file for each client. This form must be filled out each first time visit with a new therapist. Massage Questionnaires are available at the Services and Information Desk, can be provided by your therapist at the initial appointment, or downloaded here.
