Arlington ISD teacher retention
Fewer teachers are leaving Arlington ISD amid its recruitment and alternative certification efforts, states the Fort Worth Report. Fifty substitute teachers in the district are participating in UTA’s alternative certification program and will convert to full-time teachers once they are certified.

Drone flying course
The Fort Worth Report spoke with Zhe Yin, an assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Civil Engineering, and students in his commercial drone flying course. This is the first time UTA is offering the course, which received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration.
