Celebration of Life

Fort Worth Report covered the Celebration of Life in honor of Dr. Allan Saxe.

Safer Roads

The city of Arlington is working on plans to decrease the number of deaths on city roads, KERA reports. Stephen Mattingly, a UT Arlington civil engineering professor, said higher instances of speeding and more pedestrians and cyclists on the road have contributed to a rise in fatal crashes, despite efforts by cities in recent years to minimize the number of serious injuries and deaths.

Medical Innovation

A new study, done in part by UTA researchers, used machine learning to help identify three distinct patterns of Parkinson’s Disease progression, Quantum Zeitgest reports.

Special Collections

In a piece in the history of the LGBTQ community in Tarrant County, Fort Worth Report cited efforts by UTA Special Collections to expand its collection on the topic. “Our job is to document all voices and all stories that come from Tarrant County,” said Kathryn Slover, Special Collections digital archivist.

Home Prices

Despite more homes on the market, prices are not falling, The Dallas Morning News reports. Sriram Villupuram, UTA real estate and finance professor, said the supply bump may be driven partially by sellers putting higher-priced homes on the market.
