For the sixth year in a row, UTA enrolled the most first-time-in-college students in University history. The total in fall 2022—4,463—was nearly a 7% increase over fall 2021

“UTA is a national treasure, and it’s because we combine academic rigor with our unwavering commitment to access for students from all backgrounds," President Jennifer Cowley says.

Eric Pham, a microbiology major and high school valedictorian, says he chose the University in part because of its welcoming campus environment.

Freshman Dylan Baumbach, a National Merit Scholar, says he chose UTA because of its “amazing engineering school and real-world research and innovation opportunities.” The College of Engineering saw a 21% increase in enrollment.

Fall 2022 was also the first semester students were eligible for UTA’s Blaze Forward program, which covers 100% of tuition and mandatory fees for students who meet all eligibility requirements.

"We know that our students’ lives are transformed when they have the opportunity to attend UTA," Dr. Cowley says. “That’s why we are so firmly committed to ensuring that students have access to our outstanding education."
