The Texas Rangers’ 2023 season was a historic moment in Arlington history. After being in Arlington for over 50 years, the Rangers won their first World Series, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays, the Baltimore Orioles, the Houston Astros, and the Arizona Diamondbacks to reach the pinnacle of baseball.
Throughout the championship run, Arlington and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex hosted numerous playoff games, watch parties, and community gatherings, and an estimated 700,000 people attended the victory parade.
UTA Libraries Special Collections is collecting digital materials to add to its permanent archival collections to help document this historical moment for the benefit of future generations. Community members can donate their materials through this online form.
