Wear your spirit comfort attire this summer!
We are excited to announce that during the summer season, from Monday, June 3, through Friday, Aug. 9, UTA employees have the option to wear “spirit comfort” attire. This option may not be appropriate for every employee and every department. If your department currently has more flexible dress practices, please continue to follow those. In any case, leaders should manage this benefit at the department or college level.
Jeans are permitted but only in combination with UTA attire. "Spirit comfort" means that jeans combined with UTA attire is appropriate, but casual to the level of shorts and flip-flops is not. The aim is to strike a balance between comfort and professionalism while incorporating UTA spirit.
This time frame overlaps with the summer flex hours; as you enjoy your summer flex hours, we would like to remind you that the state only grants eight hours of holiday leave on state holidays, so employees who have chosen to work 10-hour days under the summer flex benefit should account for the remaining two hours those weeks, either through applicable leave or by working those hours on a different day.
We appreciate your hard work and dedication to the University, and we hope you embrace this opportunity to express your UTA spirit!
