Flexible Summer Hours Program Begins June 3
University administration understands that summer can be a time of increased activity, travel and family commitments, and we want to provide UTA employees with greater flexibility during this time.
Between Monday, June 3 and Friday, August 9, UTA employees have the option to participate in the popular flexible summer hours program. Participating employees, including remote workers, can work a compressed week of four 10-hour days with one day off during the work week. Managers must provide the employee with an approved schedule in writing before the employee may begin the program. Non-exempt employees must take a minimum 30-minute lunch break. Those who choose to participate must provide a Remote Work Agreement.
This new schedule will allow our employees to have an extra day off during the week, giving them more time to relax, spend time with their families and pursue their personal interests. We believe that this new schedule will not only improve the work-life balance of our employees but also lead to increased productivity and job satisfaction.
The summer hours program does not work for every employee and every department. Leaders should manage this program at the department/college level.
Please keep in mind that if activities require additional focus and attention, any approved requests for this program may be ended sooner than what was originally requested.
We appreciate your hard work and dedication to our organization, and we hope that this new summer work schedule will provide you with greater flexibility and opportunities to enjoy summer.
