Welcome Message From Imelda
It is my pleasure to introduce to you the first edition of the Belonging and Engagement newsletter! We are always looking for new ways to share information and connect with the UTA community. It is our hope that this publication gives you inside access to all the different opportunities for you, as faculty and staff, to be engaged.
In this first edition, I want to introduce you to the Belonging and Engagement (BE) Team. Although the BE team is less than a year old, it has already created multiple opportunities for you to be engaged and an infrastructure has been created to promote employee engagement for all at UTA. I also want to focus this edition on disabilities, as October is the Month of National Disability Employment Awareness. We want to introduce you to the Disability Employee Network and its leaders. This employee network is a great resource for all of our UTA employees with and without disabilities. Also, learn more about UTA’s efforts to hire more individuals with disabilities through its newly created UTA AccessAbility Career Pathway.
Finally, test your knowledge on the employee engagement survey at UTA for an opportunity to win an umbrella (first-come, first served). For more information on how to participate visit our cyberlearning quiz.
Therefore, we hope to keep you informed of all upcoming employee engagement opportunities through this newsletter and other UTA outlets. But in the meantime, join us for any of our upcoming events!
Go Mavs,
Imelda Wicks
AVP of Talent, Culture, and Engagement
