UTA Housing Scholarship for First Time in College (FTIC) Students

As a student who plans to attend UTA beginning in the summer 2024 or fall 2024, you may be eligible to receive a UTA Housing Scholarship!  

Scholarship Description: The UTA Housing Scholarship has been initiated by UT Arlington President, Jennifer Cowley PH.D., to assist students who are entering college for the first time at UTA. The UTA Housing Scholarship provides a one-time, scholarship toward the cost of a UTA residence hall. This award is payable for up to $1,000 for the upcoming academic year ($500 for fall 24 and $500 for spring 25).  

Eligibility: To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet all the following requirements. 

  1. You must be classified as First Time in College (FTIC) Student at UTA entering in summer 2024 or fall 2024. 
  2. You must apply for a residence hall space by the priority housing application deadline of April 1, 2024.
  3. You must complete a valid housing contract for a UTA residence hall space for the fall 24 and spring 25 semesters by the priority housing contract completion deadline of April 14, 2024. 
  4. You must have demonstrated financial need as evidenced by your 2024-25 FAFSA which must be completed by April 1, 2024 including any additional requested documentation. 
  5. You must live in a UTA residence hall space for the fall 24 and spring 25 semesters. 
  6. You must maintain full-time (12+ hours) enrollment for both the fall 24 and spring 25 semesters.
  7. You must remain in good standing with UTA during the period of your scholarship award. 

Award Determination: Students who meet the eligibility requirements above will be automatically considered for scholarship award. The number of scholarship awards is limited. Scholarships are awarded until the allotted funds for the year are expended. Review of housing scholarships will occur between May 1, 2024 and May 16, 2024.

Award Notification: Students who are awarded a housing scholarship will be notified by text and email after May 16, 2024.

Housing Contract Cancellation: Students may cancel their housing contract without financial penalty prior to April 30, 2024. There is no cash value for this scholarship. If you cancel your housing contract or do not live in a UTA residence hall for fall and spring, then the scholarship offer will be withdrawn.  

To take advantage of this offer, students are encouraged to apply for housing without delay.
