Tasha Pelletier

Tasha Pelletier is a PhD student in Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). She holds a Master of Social Work from UTA, with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Use, and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina. Her research interests include the intersection of trauma, cultural identity, family systems, and social systems, with a particular focus on Indigenous communities, parenting, attachment, youth substance use, and parental substance abuse.

Tasha is dedicated to exploring the long-term effects of intergenerational and historical trauma, particularly within marginalized populations. She aims to incorporate culturally relevant practices into mental health care, enhancing the accessibility and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions for Indigenous peoples. Additionally, she is interested in how community-led support systems contribute to building resilience and fostering well-being across generations.

Alongside her academic work, Tasha has extensive experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and families. She is deeply committed to advancing mental health practices that are inclusive, culturally attuned, and responsive to the unique needs of diverse communities.
