Swasati Handique
Swasati Handique (she/her) is a community-based social worker, and a Ph.D. student at the University of Texas, Arlington. Swasati’s research focuses 1) on exploring the experiences of older adults and their informal caregivers who are receiving palliative or end-of-life care or undergoing chronic, terminal, or life-limiting illnesses, 2) examining the social inequalities and disparities that accompany the treatment of chronically ill older patients and how these factors impact both diagnosis and treatment outcomes. She employs a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods in her research. Swasati is an international student from India who holds a MSW from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India.
