Rachel Stankus
Rachel earned her MSW from The University of Texas at Arlington and has since gone onto work in a variety of healthcare settings including long-term care, and child welfare while primarily focusing on social work in the emergency room setting. She currently works with the police and fire department responding to 911 calls for those experiencing a mental health crisis.
Rachel’s passion for research and further study stemmed from an esteemed individual who has spent over 10 years in emergency and crisis services and has brought a wealth of knowledge and experiences throughout Rachel’s career. She is interested in studying mental health and it’s effect on an emergency room as well as cognitive responses to crisis events or traumatic situations.
